I just wanted to wish everyone the best of luck this weekend.
It's been a different and challenging few months for all of us but hopefully starting the season will bring sense of normality back to both ours and our kids lives.
I want to thank everyone for all the hard work you have put in getting the club ready to start this weekend, especially the Executive Committee, the team mangers and Coaches and all our other volunteers.
A big congratulations also to the Boys and Girls for their patience and enthusiasm in the lead up to what will be a shortened but i think a very exciting season for the TIGERS.
It has been a challenge and not everything has gone smoothly and I'm sure we will still see some teething problems over the next few weeks so i ask everyone to just enjoy the football, be patent and respectful with club officials, WAFC Officials and most especially the Umpires. There has been al ot of changes and the umpires, same as our Kids, will have to make adjustments and are all still learning as well. There will be a lot of very young Umpires running around this year in the Juniors are so lets make sure we are welcoming and supportive of their efforts and learning journey as well.
The Covid situation has created some issues for all Clubs and Local Governments so please be aware when traveling to different Shire locations the rules and regulations around social distancing and use of the facilities will vary. For example some facilities will may not have full access to change rooms and or their club rooms, canteens etc. Again i ask that we all show patience and respect when visiting other venues.
City of Kalamunda has approved full use of our facilities including club rooms, canteen and change rooms.
All players and parents are asked to use the sanitiser stations that will be located at all entrances to the oval and club rooms, when arriving and leaving.
Each youth team will have their own change room and will not share with other teams.
Junior Teams wishing to use change rooms will need to clear use with a club official and the same rules as above will apply.
Change rooms will be available to players and team officials only. Please ask your teams to restrict access to essential team officials only.
( CLUB OFFICIALS WILL BE WEARING ORANGE VESTS WHEN OUT ON THE ARENA)
- Spectators and parents etc are not to use the change room toilets.
- Spectators and parents will be asked to refrain from entering the playing arena during quarter time breaks and can only enter the playing field at half time and full time, once the players have left the field. A SECOND SIREN WILL SOUND to indicate when it is clear for spectators to enter the playing arena.
- All spectators are asked to maintain social distancing rules of 1.5m at all times including use of the rooms, toilets and whilst lining up for coffees and food at the canteen. Contact including shaking hands, high 5s etc should be discouraged.
We will be on a short leash and the City will be patrolling to ensure we adhere to our safety plan and all these requirements. The future of the 2020 is up to all of us and we can not be complacent in our actions.
On a more positive note it will be great to see everyone out there again this weekend. On behalf of the rest of the committee I wish you all good luck for the weekend and GO TIGERS.
