Our Year 11 team were given the opportunity to train with the Kalamunda Cougars league team last Thursday night led by Cougars Coach Steven Armstrong (former West Coast Eagles and Melbourne player).
The boys were heading into their biggest game of the season against the top side of South Perth (who had only lost one game so far this season) so this training session was invaluable for the boys. The team trained with the senior boys and listened to talks from Steven Armstrong in the club rooms as well as the change rooms.
After the combined session with the League boys, our Year 11s were treated to a sausage sizzle and drinks with some of the boys hanging out in the club rooms afterwards listening to the selections and announcements.
On a high note - our Year 11 team went on to win against South Perth yesterday beating the top side by 21 points!!!
Thank you to Steven Armstrong and also to the Kalamunda Cougars for providing the Year 11 boys with this wonderful opportunity and giving the boys an insight into what goes on at the Cougars.
